George Lucas is the Devil

I have officially declared that George Lucas is the Devil. Why you ask? Well, first off, he totally dropped the ball on the first two movies of the Star Wars Trilogy...Revenge of the Sith was pretty good though. Now, he has released the original trilogy separately, with the original versions added in....$20.00 apiece! When the orginal trilogy first came to DVD, they were only 35 bucks....what a scam this money hungry devil is running!

umm.. odds are this isnt george lucas doing this. its probably the production company of the DVD's... he already has enough money to live his life the way he wants to... so i doubt he is behind this

not a big star wars or lucas buff
even though im dying to watch all of these films (have watched bits and pieces, and i love them)

isn't the production company in fact, Lucasfilms?

yeh lucasfilms is the production company.. but im pretty sure they dont actually MAKE the dvd's... i think another company does taht.. could be wrong though

George Lucas has control of everything that is sold. No matter what something cost, Lucas has the ultimate say so in what is made, distributed, and resold. He has the rights to everything with the star wars name on it.

You are absolutely right, mega. Back during negotiations for Star Wars, Lucas took a pay cut for his directorial duties for total merchandise rights to the Star Wars name. Why do you think he has more money than God now? Because when Star Wars took off, so did the merchandise...that is where he made his initial fortune. Lucasfilm controls all media in the SW universe, DVD releases as well. If you'll note, it's "Lucas"film. That means he has his little hand in that cookie jar, too.
